KNPS Names New KNHS Assistant Principal

Knob Noster Public Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. William Dow has been selected as the Assistant Principal for Knob Noster High School for the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Dow will be replacing Brandon Harding who came out of retirement to serve as interim assistant principal for the 2023-2024 school year.
Mr. Dow moved to Knob Noster in 1998 with his family and was a 2003 graduate of Knob Noster High School. He graduated with a B.S. in Physical Education in 2008, from Central Missouri State University, now UCM. He earned a Master’s Degree in Education Administration in 2013 and an Ed. Specialist Degree in Superintendency in 2019, both through William Woods University. Mr. Dow and his wife Rachel currently reside in Carrollton, with their two children Liam and Claire. They will be relocating to the Knob Noster area this summer. Mrs. Dow is joining the Knob Noster team as a special education teacher.
Prior to joining Knob Noster, Dow has served as a building leader for eight years as a K-12 Principal at Tina-Avalon as well as a 7-12 Principal at Grundy County and Hardin-Central. He also has eight years of experience serving as an Athletic/Activity Director (A.D.) During this time, he has worked to develop professional learning and development opportunities for his staff, as well as serve as a mentor through the MO Leadership Development System. He has served in a variety of leadership roles including: asst. to the superintendent, curriculum design and implementation, communications director, district transportation director, staff evaluations, and a host of other responsibilities within his districts. Mr. Dow has served in his current school’s conference as a network leader amongst school principals and athletic/activity directors. Mr. Dow has coached multiple sports including football, softball, basketball, and baseball throughout his career and also is a MSHSAA basketball official and has been selected for many basketball postseason opportunities.
When asked about serving as the Knob Noster High School Assistant Principal, Mr. Dow stated, “I am excited about coming home and serving the great community of Knob Noster where I had my greatest memories! I’m excited to share Knob Noster with my children and show them why I am excited to come back and lead the students and teachers of Knob Noster. I had a great experience growing up and landing in Knob Noster in which I call home. I am honored to be chosen for this step in my career to not only be back home, but to share my passion for academics and kids with this amazing community! I am a high energy guy that loves creating positive relationships with kids, staff, and community members and I look forward to giving back. I look forward to meeting and reacquainting myself with Panther Nation!”
Mr. Dow will officially transition to his new position on July 1, 2024.
