I graduated from Warrensburg High School and received my Bachelor of Instrumental Music degree from UCM. My Masters of Music Education was earned from UCM, also!

Knob Noster was the school I received my student teaching experience under the tutelage of Mr. David Robinson. I taught three years in Iberia in 1993. I was offered the graduate assistant position at UCM and worked on my graduate studies. I missed the classroom and applied at Smithton and taught another three years there. I got a phone call from David Robinson asking if I would be interested in co-teaching with him in Knob Noster as assistant director, and I jumped at the chance. Four years later, state funds required most school districts to make tough decisions and the assistant band director position was eliminated at Knob Noster. Lexington was in need of a director to build back the band program and I needed a job! I spent the next ten years there. When Mr. Robinson retired in 2013, I naturally wanted to return to the wonderful community of Knob Noster.

I was born in Warrensburg, Missouri and graduated from Warrensburg High School. I love music and love to teach kids the joy of making music both alone and with others!

I am married to my beautiful wife Angela who is an Occupational Therapist in Warrensburg. We have twin boys born in 2008 named Grayson and Hayden and a daughter named Emery born in 2011.

Christianity was a vital part to my upbringing and is very important part to the Hunter family and to my life.
