Knob Noster School District Announces Cole Lankford Letter of Intent to Play Tennis at the University of the Ozarks

KNOB NOSTER, MO (February 23, 2016) – Knob Noster Senior Cole Lankford signed Monday, February 22, 2016 a letter of intent to play tennis at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas.  Cole is a three year lettermen for the Knob Noster Panthers.  In his three prior seasons he has been selected to the MRVC all-conference team in each year.  Last year Cole and Kyle Zimmerschied’s doubles team advanced to a 4th place finish in the MSHSAA Class 1 State Tournament.

When asked what he looks forward to the most about playing college tennis, Cole responded. “It is most athlete's dream to extend their careers into college and I can't believe I've made it there. The thing I look forward to the most is the fact that I will have a season in the fall and spring so there is much more tennis to be played.”

Cole also elaborated on the expectations of the upcoming season, “In conference I went undefeated in both singles and with my doubles partner Kyle Zimmerschied we went undefeated in doubles. Kyle and I placed first in districts and won our match at sectionals. This advanced us to state where we placed fourth. This means that the goals that I've set for this season are pretty high meaning that I would do everything the same except try to advance further at state.”

The Panthers tennis season starts March 21st at home versus Sedalia Smith-Cotton.
