KNHS Mens and Womens Track Team Enjoy Successful State Track Meet.

Heading into the state track meet Coach Villigram didn’t know what to expect, “I just wanted the kids to go into Friday and Saturday and just have success. Sophomore Kali Randall finished 7th in the 100 meter dash with a school record time of 12.54, finished 2nd in the 400 meter dash with a school record time of 57.65, and 7th in the 200 meter dash with a school record time of 25.79. The Lady Panthers walked away with 6 total medals and 1 Class 3 State Record.

On the men’s side, Junior Andre Williams represented the Panthers. Andre competed in the 100 meter dash, 200, meter dash, 400 meter dash, and Long Jump. With Andre’s efforts, he collected 4 medals by the end of the meet. Andre took 5th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.8; 3rd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.05; and 2nd in the Long Jump with a jump of 22’04”. Andre did complete his day with becoming the Class 3 Men’s 400 Meter Dash Champion with a time of 48.79.

Overall Coach Villigram was very pleased with the effort each individual during their time at Jefferson City High School. Coach Villigram said, “This was one of the best moments I will remember for a long time. I’ve never had such success at a state meet like the one we had this weekend. This showed the hard work and determination these athletes had all season.” The Men’s team placed 7th overall and the Women’s team placed tied for 10th in the state.
