SCHOLAR BOWL Main Page Image

Scholar Bowl (a.k.a. Quiz Bowl, Academic Bowl, Brain Bowl, Academic Team, Academic Varsity Bowl, Academic Challenge, Scholar Quiz Bowl, Knowledge Bowl, or Masterminds) is a family of games of questions and answers on all topics of human knowledge, commonly played in high school and college.

Scholar Bowl is played with a lockout buzzer system between some number of teams, most commonly two teams of four players each and a captain.

A moderator reads questions to the teams, whose players attempt to buzz in first with the correct answer, scoring points for their team.  The team with the highest score at the end of the match wins.

Practices are held each Thursday evening until 4:30 p.m. in room 12.

Competition Quads are held on specifically scheduled Wednesday evenings.
